Don't Resemble the Ostrich

The bible says in Job chapter 39 that the ostrich is hardened against her young ones because God hath deprived her of wisdom,‭ ‬neither hath he imparted to her understanding.‭ She will leave her eggs in the earth and forget that the foot may crush them or that the wild beast may break them. In Lamentations 4:3 God’s people are likened unto the ostrich, “‬the daughter of my people‭ ‬is become cruel,‭ ‬like the ostriches in the wilderness.”

‭God gave the ostrich wings and feathers but He deprived her of wisdom. We as Christians don’t have to be deprived of wisdom and hardened like the ostrich. We are invited to ask God for wisdom, and when we do God won’t upbraid us. He will give to us liberally. It is up to us though to either receive with meekness the engrafted word of God or to harden ourselves. If we harden ourselves we can become like the ostrich, crushing our own and cruel. We will be left deprived of wisdom and foolish.

To avoid becoming hard hearted, we need to be continually gathering together and getting exhorted with the word of God.
Hebrews‭ ‬3:13‭  “‬But exhort one another daily,‭ ‬while it is called To day‭; ‬lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.”‭

‭Job asked this concerning man hardening himself against God in Job 9:4, “‬who hath hardened‭ ‬himself against him,‭ ‬and hath prospered‭?”
Do you remember what happened to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians when they were hardened against God’s will? They were destroyed!
‭Anyone that won’t humble themselves to God’s will, will be destroyed.
Proverbs‭ ‬29:1‭ says, “‬He,‭ ‬that being often reproved hardeneth‭ ‬his neck,‭ ‬shall suddenly be destroyed,‭ ‬and that without remedy.”‭

‭When the word of exhortation reveals any contrary ways in us, we need to simply humble ourselves, repent and obey God's will. In so doing we will be happy.

Proverbs‭ ‬28:13-14 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper:‭ ‬but whoso confesseth and forsaketh‭ ‬them shall have mercy.‭ Happy‭ ‬is the man that feareth alway:‭ ‬but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.‭

Remember not to be cruel.

Ephesians 4:29-32  Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
